              Declare a Climate Emergency

The president should declare the climate crisis a national emergency, which gives the president powers under existing laws to take many immediate steps to address the climate crisis without needing congressional legislation.

The president should create a cabinet-level Office of Climate Mobilization to coordinate all federal agencies and economic planning to meet climate safety and justice goals.
The president should then seek congressional legislation to implement an Ecosocialist Green New Deal.
